At his arraignment yesterday he was charged only with assault with a deadly weapon. Smith was originally arrested on complaints of assault with a deadly weapon and maiming. Police issued a BOLO alert for Smith and the Grady County Sheriff's Office received a tip Thursday morning on his location. The affidavit states that the victim and the suspect, Bronson Tyler Smith, got into an argument and that Smith had what appeared to be a machete and officials also found a large, heavy duty, solid-metal pair of scissors at the scene. The victim had already been taken to a hospital in a private vehicle.
